Nostalgia Classic Cars is proud to feature a British open top icon, a perfectly restored 1963 MG B. This early example of the charming convertible has been painted in baby powder blue, with a black soft top. The interior features a matching colorway, and is finished in black leather with soft blue welting. Its cockpit is also rich in dark burl woodwoork which adds a breath of luxury, and the car features a beautiful, period-correct mono speaker. Its chromework shines as new, both inside and out, and so do the iconic fender mirrors and wire rims, trademark British sportscar features from the era. The engine has covered just 23,308 kilometers, promising lots more fun open top driving.
MG MGB started its production in 1962, by the British Motor Company, and it was concieved as a small, lightweight roadster. Unlike its predecessors, and contemporary competition which used body-on-frame construction, the MG B was constructed as a monocoque, which made it stronger, lightweight, and ultimately a better driver’s car. Its BMC B-Series engines produced up to 95 horsepower, with many changes during its long production process.
Today, MG MGB stands strong as one of the most popular car for automotive enthusiasts, who regularly use it for daily driving, weekend cruising, or even racing on hillclimbs, rallies and circuit events. A meticulously restored example such as this one is certainly going to draw attention of the enthusiasts as much as everyone who appreciates true automotive beauty, and that’s what makes this little charmer truly special.
