Volkswagen Beetle Convertible 1957

- Recently a lot of technical maintenance
- Rare Type 1 Beetle Cabriolet
- Original state
- Unique color scheme

The Volkswagen Beetle had a number of influencers and collaborators, including engineer Josef Ganz, who is often credited with creating the concept. At that time, he was already contributing to the development of Daimler-Benz and BMW cars, and his 1934 'Standard Superior' had a similar shape and appearance to the 'Bug'. Ganz was not a favorite in Germany and the project was assigned to Ferdinand Porsche, who then promoted the design. Many of the design cues came from Tatra, an acknowledgment they received after closing a successful court case at the end of the war.

The 'Split window' versions were produced until 1953, and the oval window from 1953 to 1957. The displacement increased from 1100cc to 1200cc in 1954, with an output of 30 to 36 hp.

The 1957 Volkswagen Beetle got tubeless tires for the first time. The horizontally opposed, four-cylinder, air-cooled overhead valve engine had an alloy block and finned cylinders. It displaced 72.7 cubic inches and produced 36 horsepower. They had a four-speed manual transmission, worm and nut steering, and hydraulic drums on all four corners. Another new addition to the Beetle was the adjustable shutter on each door. The front heater outlets were moved to the rear, which was done to improve heat distribution.

This is a 1957 Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet. The previously restored Beetle has a beautiful color scheme of gray metallic paint together with a red interior. It is very original and that is also reflected in the paint that has minor flaws. The interior is really a look back in time. The red interior together with the white steering wheel, the Ra-Bambu plastic rack under the dashboard and the classic 'Wolfsburg' logos that can be found.

Technically he is very neat. A lot of maintenance has recently been done to a beautiful technical condition. The Karmann body is still in a neat and original condition.

This classic, reliable and cost-efficient Beetle is ready for more years on the road!
