Descrizione

Launched at the Earls Court Motor Show in October 1962 the MGB is a two seater sports car manufactured and marketed by the British Motor Corporation (BMC), later British Leyland. The MGB brought MG’s sports cars into the modern day, with its attractive slab-sided roadster body. Remaining in production until 1980 the MGB was Britain’s most successful sports car. The B utilised a monocoque chassis instead of the traditional body-on-frame construction used on both the MGA, MG T-Types and the MGB’s rival, the Triumph TR series. Powered by British Leyland’s 95bhp B-Series engine the MGB offered spritely performance with a 0-60mph time of just over 11 seconds. The MGB Roadster offered here at Autostorico is a May 1973 registered example finished in Glacier White with Black leather interior. It was originally supplied through Stewart and Arden Limited of Barnes, London to Carmotion of Finchley, North London. Having passed through several owners in the London area the car was bought by Mark Prigmore who decided to restore her to original specification. Works included replacement of body panels, New hood (documented in photo’s) and a fresh re-paint in 2 pack British Leyland Glacier White. Work commenced in January 1991 and was completed by July 1991 carried out by The Oaks Classic Cars of Brent Pelam, an MG marque specialist. RLA14L then passed to Kenneth Musson of Camberley, Surrey who in March 2000 fitted an 1860cc Road Race engine which has been converted to run on lead free fuel with a Stage II head, 717 cam, 1.75 inch SU Carburettors and Manifold fitted along with a Sports exhaust system with a performance distributer and electronic timing. Other notable features include; 4 Speed overdrive gearbox, Wire wheels, Period badges and Tool kit. Offered for sale with a current V5 registration document, current MOT and substantial history file including bills, Heritage Certificate, MOT certificates and other related material. A truly a unique opportunity to own such a stunning example of a true British classic, which will certainly appreciate over time. Viewing strictly by appointment only?
