ALFA ROMEO Giulietta Sprint Véloce Alleggerita (1956)

This is an authentic Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Veloce in its customer competition guise « Alleggerita version », with matching numbers confirmed by Alfa Romeo Archives. Being one of the first examples of this very rare version (c. 150 are supposed to have been made), the car left the factory in 1956 and was sold to its first owner in Italy. The car stayed in Italy and was probably raced in rallies before being part of a large collection, assumed to have been in the hands of six owners. It was bought by its current owner a few years ago as a most authentic and untouched example of the best of Alfa Romeo's legacy. It is today part fo a large collection of Italian cars. This Alleggerita is a very racy sports car, with a high-revving engine ; it is authentic car, body and interior are original and the paint is old but well preserved. It has its very light aluminium openings, tubular seats, plexiglass windows... The car comes with a spare engine and the original engine block. It is unrestored to save the original condition of the car, but the engine and and electricity have been subject of a major overhaul. It is equiped with a new full size fuel tank. It is Mille Miglia eligible. It comes with its original libretto tracing full history of the car's previous ownership. The car can be viewed in France.
