ASTON MARTIN DB2/4 (1953-1959)
1955 ASTON MARTIN DB 2/4 MKI DROPHEAD COUPÉ An original factory left-hand-drive example Fitted with the desirable and more powerful 2. 9 liter VB6J engine since new One of 102 DB2/4 DHCs produced One of 75 DB2/4 MKI DHCs produced Beautiful color combination In 1947, Aston Martin was bought by the David Brown limited company. David Brown introduced a complete different style Aston Martin with the introduction of the Aston Martin DB2. He also introduced the now famous initials to name a model, his initials DB. The Aston Martin DB2/ 4 was introduced in the autumn of 1953 to replace the DB2 which very successfully had competed in the 1950 and 1951 racing season. The Aston Martin DB2/ 4 was the first ever sports car to have a new top-hinged hatchback, which allowed for access towards the luggage area. Only 566 examples of the DB2/ 4 MKI have ever been made from which only 73 were Drophead Coupe’s like the car we currently offer. The DB2 was standard powered by a sophisticated 2. 6 liter twin cam Straight-6 engine, designed by none other than W. O. Bentley. As of 1953 the upgraded 2. 992 liter engine was used in the competition cars and subsequently became available for the catalogue car in 1955. This upgraded engine was standard delivered in this specific DB 2/ 4 MkI DHC . ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC EXAMPLE This specific Aston Martin Drophead is recorded on its original build sheet, a copy of which is on file, as a factory left-hand-drive example which had been supplied new by American Agent B.M. C, in Moonbeam with a Red Connolly leather interior.Verkäufer kontaktieren
