The description
1939 Rolls Royce Wraith Sedanca deVille
1939 Rolls-Royce Wraith Sedanca DeVilleIntroducing this 1939 Rolls-Royce Wraith Sedanca deVille, featuring coachwork by J. Gurney Nutting and recently released from long-term ownership. Finished in medium grey with a tan interior and wood trim. The 1939 Wraith was the last pre-war model produced by Rolls-Royce. Only about 492 chassis were built before production stopped during World War II, making surviving examples scarce. Cars fitted with Gurney Nutting Sedanca coachwork are particularly rare.Highlights:- Coachwork by J. Gurney Nutting- California Car- Four-Speed Manual Transmission- Inline 6-Cylinder Engine- Single-Barrel Carburetor- Drum Brakes- Sedanca Roof- Chrome Bumpers- Dual Side-Mounted Spare Tires- Interior Wood TrimThis classic car is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, inline 6-cylinder engine, drum brakes, and a single-barrel carburetor. Additional features include a Sedanca roof, three-spoke steering wheel, chrome bumpers, interior wood trim, black-finished wire wheels with Firestone tires, and dual side-mounted spare tires.Interior amenities include front bucket seats, a rear bench seat, rear picnic tables, and fender-mounted side mirrors. The Sedanca deVille design features an opening roof over the chauffeur's area while the rear passengers sit under a fixed roof. This layout allowed the driver to enjoy open-air motoring while giving passengers a more private and formal space. This example shows the elegant proportions typical of pre-war luxury cars, highlighted by the distinctive coachwork from Gurney Nutting. It also retains a California black license plate, reflecting its West Coast history.Offered as a project car, this Wraith Sedanca deVille presents a good opportunity for restoration. With its classic design and limited production, it represents an interesting piece of pre-war Rolls-Royce history. For $36,500Contact seller
