Descrizione

- The 1959 Jaguar XK 150 represents the pinnacle of the XK line: a sleek, comfortable grand tourer brimming with performance, timeless aesthetics, and engineering highlights (like disc brakes and swept windscreen)

- Beautifully restored and expertly upgraded

- This particular example benefits from the legendary 4.2-litre XK engine, offering enhanced torque, smoother power delivery, and improved drivability over the original 3.4 or 3.8 engines

- Other Key Enhancements: power steering, heated leather seats, modernized cooling and electrical systems

- A perfect blend of racing pedigree and touring comfort

Jaguar’s iconic XK series began in 1948 with the XK 120, powered by the groundbreaking “XK” dual‑overhead‑cam inline‑six engine.

The sleek XK 120 set the stage, proving competitive with its 120 mph top speed and racing pedigree (including Le Mans success).

In 1954, the XK 140 succeeded, offering improved comfort, more power, and refined styling.

By 1957, Jaguar introduced the XK 150 as the final evolution of this post-war sports car line.

With a wider, slab-sided body, one-piece curved windshield, leather-trimmed interior, and full four-wheel disc brakes, the XK 150 was a leap forward in refinement and performance.

Available in Roadster (OTS), Drophead Coupé (DHC), and Fixed Head Coupé (FHC).

XK 150s were powered by the eponymous 6-cylinder engine with a displacement of 3.4 litres, then 3.8 litres, before becoming 4.2 litres shortly after the introduction of the E-Type.

The OTS Roadster, is arguably the most desirable and purest form of the model.

ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC EXAMPLE

This particular XK150 is a one-of-a-kind restoration, carried out to the highest standards by Vintage Racing Green in the United Kingdom, known for their exceptional work on classic British marques.

The owner of this Jaguar is a long-time client of the firm and entrusted them between 2017 and 2019 with a complete nut-and-bolt restoration and tasteful mechanical and usability upgrades, resulting in a classic Jaguar that looks exquisite and drives as impressively as it appears.

Every single part has been restored or renewed resulting in an absolute fabulous example.

A standard Jaguar XK is already a great car to drive but this Jaguar benefits from several upgrades to make it an even better driving car.

The standard engine was upgraded to a 4.2 liter 6 cylinder example to gain more power.

The standard 4 speed gearbox was changed for a 5 speed G-trac gearbox to gain better ratio’s and to get a more comfortable car on high speed.

The Jaguar received heated seats as well as power steering.

These upgrades make the car not only more powerful, but also vastly more comfortable, reliable, and enjoyable to drive in any setting, from touring holidays to weekend rallies.

CONDITION EXTERIOR

The restoration quality is exemplary.

The bodywork was completely stripped and rebuilt, displaying exceptional panel fit, proper door and boot alignment, and beautifully preserved factory details.

Finished in a stunning dark grey metallic, the paintwork boasts a deep, uniform shine.

Chrome accents have been restored to a mirror finish. From the grille to the wire wheels and bumpers, every piece of exterior trim is immaculate.

CONDITION INTERIOR

The interior environment is as refined and inviting as a modern luxury roadster, but retains all the character and charm of a 1950s British sports car.

The cabin is trimmed in rich brown leather, offering a warm and inviting contrast to the dark grey exterior.

Every interior detail, gauges, switchgear, controls, has been either restored or replaced, resulting in a cabin that is both period-correct and visually immaculate.

The seats are featuring heated seat functionality, ideal for early morning drives or cold weather touring.

The hood (convertible top) has also been rebuilt to concours-quality, with attention to both inner lining and outer materials.

The carpeting and interior trim panels are all new and correct, offering a clean, luxurious feel without betraying the car’s heritage.

DRIVING EXPERIENCE

This beautifully restored and upgraded XK150 blends classic British charm with modern mechanical refinement.

The upgrades to this XK150 transform its already impressive dynamics into something truly outstanding. With the 4.2-litre engine under the bonnet and a modern 5-speed transmission, the car offers:

– Effortless acceleration and torque-rich performance
– Relaxed cruising at high speeds thanks to the taller 5th gear
– Precise, lightweight steering with the power assist system
– Confidence-inspiring braking from the four-wheel disc brakes

The result is a more refined, responsive driving experience that enhances long-distance touring capabilities without compromising the classic character of the car.

The upgrades make the car not only more powerful, but also vastly more comfortable, reliable, and enjoyable to drive in any setting, from touring holidays to weekend rallies.

It’s a car that excels on every front: appearance, performance, and usability.
