1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SLAvailable now is this 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda, finished in its factory Signal Red (568) over a black interior and equipped with both tops. Known as the "Pagoda" due to the distinctive shape of its removable hardtop, the W113-series 280SL remains one of Mercedes-Benz's most recognizable postwar designs.Highlights:- Factory Color: Signal Red (568)- Interior Color: Black- 2.8-Liter Inline-Six- Four-Speed Automatic Transmission- Power Steering- Black Convertible Soft Top- Signal Red Removable Hardtop- Center Console- Chrome Accents- VDO Instrumentation- Alpine Radio- 14-Inch Steel Wheels w/ Mercedes-Benz Hubcaps- Bilstein Jack and Spare TireUnder the hood is a Bosch fuel-injected 2.8-liter M130 inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, dual exhaust outlets, and both the removable hardtop and black convertible soft top. Chrome bumpers with overriders, 14-inch steel wheels, and Mercedes-Benz hubcaps complete the classic exterior.Inside, the black cabin features bucket seats with headrests, manual crank windows, a center console, and a classic two-spoke steering wheel with horn ring. The dashboard houses a 140-mph speedometer, tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature, an analog clock, and an Alpine radio. The trunk is equipped with a Bilstein jack and spare tire. The W113 earned the nickname "Pagoda" from the distinctive shape of its removable hardtop. Its design was also functional, with the concave roof engineered to provide structural rigidity while maintaining excellent outward visibility. This combination of styling and engineering helped make the 280SL one of the defining Mercedes-Benz roadsters of the era.Rust is visible throughout the undercarriage, rocker panels, and lower body sections, and the photo gallery provides a look at the car’s overall condition. The 280SL is currently running and driving but will require further work before it is ready for regular road use. Offered as a project, it combines the desirable Signal Red factory color, both tops, and the unmistakable Pagoda styling of the W113, giving the next owner an opportunity to take on a highly recognizable Mercedes-Benz classic.
