In 2004 Ferrari unveiled a new model in Paris. In every respect it was a clear step forward compared to the 360. The name was F430, internally designated F131. Everyone who saw it there immediately understood that this was no mild update.

Look at the details. The rear with its round tail lights clearly refers to the Enzo. The transparent engine cover and the model name subtly engraved on the driver side mirror nod to the Testarossa. Designed by Pininfarina with one clear objective: more downforce without additional drag.

Under the rear deck lies the heart of the story. A completely new 4.3 liter V8 from the F136 engine family producing 490 horsepower. A fantastic engine. At higher revs the sound transforms. It becomes sharper, louder and more intense, exactly as a Ferrari V8 should.

The F430 was also Ferrari’s first road car equipped with the E Diff, an electronically controlled differential that continuously distributes torque based on steering angle and lateral forces. Combined with the manettino on the steering wheel, which allows you to select five driving modes, the character of the car changes instantly with a turn of your thumb.

This Ferrari was ordered through Ferrari Pozzi and delivered new by Ferrari de Salamanca in Malaga. A correct European specification Ferrari with the accompanying documentation. The original booklets are still present in the Schedoni leather pouch. The first owner chose Rosso Scuderia for the exterior. A brighter and more competition inspired shade of red than the classic Rosso Corsa. Paired with the gray leather interior the result is a particularly fresh specification. Not black. Not beige. Instead gray leather with carbon dashboard inserts. The tachometer features a yellow background, exactly as it should in a Ferrari. The Scuderia shields sit proudly on the front fenders. The brake calipers are finished in Rosso Corsa. Details that together complete the picture.

This is a Ferrari that has been driven as intended. The steering is direct. The F1 transmission operates properly and it is a genuine pleasure to be on the road with this example. Between 2005 and 2009 approximately 16,750 units were produced worldwide. Yet this model represents the moment when Ferrari completely reinvented its V8 line from a technical standpoint.
