The Volvo Amazon is one of the models that helped establish the brand’s global reputation. From the late nineteen fifties onward this car was produced in several body styles, including sedan and station wagon versions.

In international markets the model was known as the Volvo 122S. The car was introduced to the public at the New York International Auto Show and quickly became an important export model for Volvo. In total more than six hundred thousand examples were produced, a large portion of which were sold outside Sweden.
