When Lamborghini began developing a successor to the Miura in the early nineteen seventies, expectations were exceptionally high. The Miura had transformed the world of sports cars with its mid engine layout and remarkable performance. Yet Ferruccio Lamborghini believed it could be taken even further. The result made its debut in 1971 at the Geneva Motor Show as a prototype: the Countach LP500.

The design was created by Marcello Gandini at Bertone and made an immediate and lasting impression. While other sports cars still featured rounded shapes, Lamborghini chose a completely different direction. Straight lines, sharp angles and an extremely low body. The so called wedge shape, a design language that would later influence many other manufacturers.

The Countach was far more than a striking design. Beneath the bodywork was an entirely new technical layout. The well known Lamborghini V12 was now mounted longitudinally behind the driver. This improved weight distribution and enhanced stability at higher speeds. The manual gearbox was positioned in front of the engine between the seats, a solution that also provided a more direct shifting experience.

Over the years Lamborghini continued to refine the Countach. Displacement increased, performance improved and the car received wider body panels and larger air intakes. In 1985 the Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole was introduced, commonly referred to as the QV. The name refers to the four valves per cylinder of the 5.2 liter V12 engine. This made the QV one of the most powerful and impressive versions of the Countach.

The example we offer here dates from 1987 and is presented in an exceptionally elegant specification. The car was delivered in classic Rosso combined with a beautiful beige interior.
What makes this Lamborghini particularly appealing is its history. The Countach remained in the hands of a single owner for an extended period, who actively enjoyed the car. It was used for special touring events, including the 60th anniversary tour of classic Lamborghini icons Giro Polo Storico.

Maintenance has consistently been carried out by specialized Lamborghini experts and the car has been cared for with great attention to detail. This is fully documented with invoices. The condition of this Countach is excellent. The paintwork is in very good condition and the wheels, glass and details present very well. The interior features beautiful upholstery and high quality carpets, all reflecting careful ownership.

When you walk around the car it immediately becomes clear why the Countach holds such a special place in Lamborghini history. The wide wheel arches and of course the iconic doors make it evident that this is no ordinary sports car.

At the same time it is a car that must be experienced from behind the wheel. The low seating position, wide sills and the view over the angular front create a driving experience unlike almost any other car of its era.

The Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV represents one of the later and more technically developed versions of the model. Combined with its color specification, documented maintenance history and overall condition, this example is particularly attractive for enthusiasts of classic Lamborghini models.
