La Jaguar XK120 è universalmente riconosciuta come una delle automobili sportive più iconiche e affascinanti del dopoguerra. Presentata nel 1948 al Salone di Londra, conquistò immediatamente il pubblico grazie alle sue linee eleganti e alle straordinarie prestazioni che la resero, all’epoca, l’automobile di serie più veloce del mondo.
Nel 1949 una XK120 stabilì il celebre record di velocità di 213 km/h sul rettilineo di Jabbeke in Belgio, consacrando il modello come punto di riferimento tra le sportive dell’epoca. Negli anni successivi la XK120 stabilì numerosi record mondiali di velocità e durata a Montlhéry, in Francia, dando inoltre origine alla leggendaria dinastia Jaguar che avrebbe conquistato cinque vittorie assolute alla 24 Ore di Le Mans negli anni Cinquanta con le celebri C-Type e D-Type.

In 1949, an XK120 set the famous speed record of 213 km/h (132.6 mph) on the Jabbeke highway in Belgium, establishing the model as a benchmark among sports cars of its era.
