EX-MILLE MIGLIA | FOUR-TIME MILLE MIGLIA PARTICIPANT | EXTENSIVE PERIOD DOCUMENTATION

Marreyt Classic Cars is delighted to present one of the most fascinating and unusual survivors of post-war Italian motorsport: this exceptionally rare Fiat Pulidori 750 Sport.  Powered by the original Giannini G1 engine no. 006 and accompanied by an extraordinary historical archive documenting its competition career.
Far more than a Mille Miglia Eligible car, this is a genuine Mille Miglia participant with period documentation directly linking the car to one of the world's most legendary road races.

A TRUE POST-WAR ITALIAN SPECIAL

Constructed by Dario Pulidori of Empoli, the car embodies the ingenuity and optimism of post-war Italian racing. Like many of the great Italian "specials" of the late 1940s, it began life as a humble Fiat before being transformed into a lightweight competition machine. Fitted with a Giannini G1 racing engine and clothed in a highly distinctive hand-crafted aluminium body, the result was a car built with one objective: speed.

Its wonderfully eccentric and unmistakably Italian coachwork perfectly reflects the spirit of the era. Built by craftsmen rather than corporations, cars such as this were never designed to conform to factory styling conventions. Instead, they represent a unique chapter in motorsport history when individual constructors pursued performance through creativity, innovation and passion. Today, these hand-built Italian specials are among the most charismatic and collectible Mille Miglia-era competition cars.

DOCUMENTED MILLE MIGLIA HISTORY

The accompanying archive contains a remarkable collection of original documents, including period correspondence between Dario Pulidori and the Automobile Club Brescia, official Mille Miglia registration paperwork, insurance documents and communications signed by Renzo Castagneto, the legendary organiser of the Mille Miglia.

These documents conclusively establish the car's participation in the 1947 Mille Miglia. Contemporary records further reveal that Pulidori's Fiat performed exceptionally well during the event, leading the 750cc Sport category for much of the race and remaining class leader until near Rome before ultimately retiring after Asti due to mechanical failure. Historical publications describe the car as one of the fastest competitors in its class.

The story did not end there. Historical records and subsequent documentation confirm continued participation in Mille Miglia events between 1947 and 1950, making this one of the very few surviving Italian specials with a documented multi-year Mille Miglia competition history.

BUILT BY DARIO PULIDORI

The car's significance extends beyond its race participation. Period sources identify Dario Pulidori not merely as a driver but as the constructor of the car itself. This elevates the Fiat Pulidori from a modified production vehicle to a genuine period-built competition special, created by one of the many independent Italian engineers and enthusiasts who contributed to the golden age of Italian motorsport.

A recent ASI Certificato d'Identità further confirms:

• Original Fiat chassis
• Original Giannini G1 engine no. 006 with Siata OHV cylinder head
• Construction and modification by Dario Pulidori in 1947
• Participation in four Mille Miglia editions between 1947 and 1950
• Preservation of the car's historic Mille Miglia configuration

PERIOD COMPETITION PEDIGREE

In addition to the Mille Miglia, the car is also associated with several important period Italian competitions, including the Circuito delle Cascine in Florence, the Circuito di Ferrara and the Circuito di Montenero, further reinforcing its authentic competition pedigree.

Today, the Fiat Pulidori presents as an exceptionally rare and highly evocative example of the Italian special-building tradition. It offers something increasingly difficult to find in today's collector car market: genuine originality, documented provenance, unquestionable Mille Miglia history and a personality entirely its own.

A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY

For the collector seeking more than another beautifully restored sports car, this Fiat Pulidori represents an opportunity to acquire a true piece of Mille Miglia history — a machine that tells the story of post-war Italian racing exactly as it happened.

As Marreyt Classic Cars, we have been guiding participants through the entire Mille Miglia journey for many years — from building the application dossier and handling the entry process to logistics, preparation, and on-site support throughout the event.

For those aiming to participate in the centenary edition in 2027, this Fiat Pulidori 750 represents a particularly compelling starting point. We warmly invite you to discover this remarkable Mille Miglia veteran in our new showroom in Ternat, Belgium.
