A restoration usually begins with a plan. Sometimes, however, it starts with nothing more than a simple request from the owner: "I just want to enjoy my XK. Make that possible." That was the philosophy behind this Jaguar XK150. Not a rushed restoration focused solely on the finished appearance, but one carried out with a far more important objective: to ensure the car once again performed exactly as Jaguar originally intended. And that is something you can still experience today.

The XK150 was introduced in 1957 as the successor to the XK140 and represented a significant evolution of its predecessors. The bodywork adopted smoother, more flowing lines, the windshield became a single-piece design, and the interior offered greater space and improved comfort. It remained unmistakably a Jaguar XK, yet one that felt noticeably more refined and contemporary.

Beneath the long hood lies the legendary XK inline-six engine, an engine that has long secured its place in Jaguar history and perfectly complements the character of the XK150. Effortlessly fast when called upon, yet equally relaxed and refined when the journey invites a more leisurely pace.

The example we are offering demonstrates just how transformative a properly executed restoration can be. This XK150 underwent a comprehensive body-off restoration by a renowned Dutch Jaguar specialist, celebrated for meticulous craftsmanship and uncompromising attention to detail. The quality of that work remains evident throughout the car today.

To make the Jaguar even more enjoyable on longer journeys, it was fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox. A modification that suits the character of the XK150 perfectly while significantly enhancing long-distance driving comfort. In addition, a period-correct Webasto sunroof was installed, adding yet another enjoyable dimension to every drive.

Finished in black with a burgundy interior, the color combination is everything a classic Jaguar should be: timeless, elegant, and beautifully suited to the graceful lines of the Fixed Head Coupé. This Jaguar is also matching numbers and matching colors. Inside, the impression is every bit as rewarding as on the exterior. Everything is beautifully presented, the details are correct, and driving this XK is an absolute pleasure. The car feels reassuringly solid, while the unmistakable sound of the famous XK engine turns every journey into a memorable occasion.

The accompanying documentation is equally impressive. The collection of invoices spans more than thirty years, providing an excellent record of the meticulous care the car has received throughout its life. In addition, the restoration itself was extensively documented with a large collection of photographs.
