This is the Aston Martin Vanquish as it was meant to be seen: finished in deep Bowland Black, with a sharp anthracite interior and refined detailing throughout. With fewer than 36,000 kilometers, complete original books and documentation, and a condition that can only be described as pristine, this Vanquish is more than just a beautiful machine.
It is a landmark in Aston Martin’s modern history.
*The rebirth of a legend*
When Aston Martin unveiled the Vanquish at the 1998 Detroit Auto Show, it was immediately clear that this was more than just the successor to the DB7. The Vanquish was a declaration. A thoroughly modern grand tourer with serious performance, built to carry the brand into a bold new era.
The design came from none other than Ian Callum, who drew inspiration from the iconic DB4 GT Zagato. The result was a muscular coupe with a low-slung front, broad shoulders, and a timeless silhouette. Understated, but undeniably elegant.
Beneath the long hood lies a hand-built 5.9-liter aluminum V12, producing 457 horsepower. 0 to 60 takes just over 4.8 seconds, and top speed exceeds 200 miles per hour. All of it delivered with the comfort and poise of a true GT.
*Formula 1 DNA*
The Vanquish wasn’t just about looks or power. It was technically ahead of its time. Its chassis, crafted from aluminum and carbon fiber and co-developed with Lotus, provided a rigid yet lightweight foundation. Suspension, braking, and chassis dynamics were all engineered to deliver high-speed composure and long-distance comfort, exactly what a grand tourer should offer.
And perhaps most importantly, this was the final fully new Aston Martin to be built at the legendary Newport Pagnell facility, the brand’s spiritual home. That alone gives every Vanquish built there an added sense of occasion.
*Bond’s choice, and not without reason*
Then there’s its big-screen moment. In 2002, the Vanquish made its blockbuster debut in Die Another Day as James Bond’s official car. Outfitted with high-tech gadgets, an invisibility cloak (in the movie, at least), and a chase scene across a frozen lake that left audiences stunned, the Vanquish cemented its place in cinematic and automotive history.
But even without its movie credentials, this car commands presence. It is rare, powerful, and in this specification, with only 36,000 kilometers, a genuinely collectible modern classic.
*The ultimate modern classic?*
The Vanquish represents Aston Martin’s evolution from old-world charm to modern sophistication. It still feels analog, visceral, and full of soul, but is equipped with the refinement and engineering to perform effortlessly in today’s world.
