When a brand has loyal enthusiasts, how do you introduce something new without losing the magic? In 1935, MG found the answer with the debut of the SA. An entirely new model that blended refined luxury with the sporting spirit for which MG was known. It was a step toward greater comfort and style, without sacrificing the heart of the enthusiast.

*Meticulously restored*
This 1937 MG SA Sport Saloon was fully restored in the 1990s by renowned specialist Bart Holland. Since then, it has been exceptionally well preserved, a fact that is evident in its elegant two-tone finish of Burgundy and “Cream Cracker.”

The bodywork is crisp and well-aligned, with the streamlined influences of the era perfectly captured in its design. The paint carries a deep, lustrous shine, and the brightwork gleams beautifully. The car is accompanied by extensive documentation, including the original owner’s manual and photographic records of the restoration.

*An interior of warmth and elegance*
Inside, you are greeted by beautifully trimmed leather in a warm cream hue and a classic dashboard that manages to be both charming and purposeful. Every detail is well cared for, exuding the same understated sophistication as the exterior. Sitting here feels less like being in a car and more like relaxing in an exclusive lounge — the sort of interior you linger in long after the journey ends.

*Driving in style*
Beneath the long bonnet lies the 2,288 cc inline-six, a smooth-running engine that delivers the calm, assured character expected of a fine British saloon. With ample power, it cruises effortlessly at modern speeds, just as it did in its heyday. The gearbox shifts with precision, and the road manners are remarkably refined for a car of its age.

*The story of the MG SA*
When MG unveiled the SA at the 1935 Motor Show, it marked the brand’s first completely new model since its acquisition by Morris Motors. Based on the Wolseley Super Six, the SA carried enough sporting finesse to wear the famous octagon badge with pride.

The SA represented MG’s evolution from nimble roadsters to larger, more luxurious models suited for long-distance touring. Yet it never lost its core DNA: elegant design, robust engineering, and just enough sporting character to set it apart. By the end of production in 1939, only 2,738 examples had been built, making the SA a rare sight today — especially in such fine condition.
